Preservation Texas plays a significant role as an advocate for historic preservation. In 1999, Preservation Texas partnered with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Texas Historical Commission and many other statewide and local organizations to successfully advocate preservation of historic resources in Texas. Through our quarterly newsletter, legislative alerts and direct contact with our constituency, we continuously keep our members updated on policy issues that affect their communities.

Preservation Day
Preservation Day is an opportunity for preservationists from across the state to participate in advocacy training, learn about key legislation and learn how to effectively advocate. Check out the 2009 event, 2009_Texas_Preservation_Day_brochure.pdf

Preservation Texas 2009 Advocacy Program
Preservation Texas advocates on behalf of its membership and local affiliates for actions by the state legislator and public agencies to protect, restore, and insure economic benefit from historic buildings, places, artifacts, and archives. 2009_PT_Advocacy_Agenda_Program.pdf
