Preservationists know that one of the foundations of a vibrant community is an active appreciation of the past. We want to live in communities that are identifiable and distinct and that have a strong sense of the past and realistic expectations of the future. Buildings were the dreams of our ancestors in brick and mortar. Preserving our ancestors' dreams is not only economically sound, but helps create a sense of community and identity for generations to come.
