The cities of Texas’ Golden Triangle possess a rich but under-appreciated legacy of twentieth-century architecture. In this talk, Stephen Fox will survey outstanding works of architecture ranging from buildings constructed in the wake of the Spindletop oil discovery to highlights of mid-twentieth-century design by Beaumont's, Port Arthur's, and Orange’s foremost modern architects.
Speaker: Stephen Fox is an architectural historian and a Fellow of the Anchorage Foundation of Texas. He is a lecturer in architecture at Rice University and the University of Houston.
The lecture will be held at Lamar University’s Dishman Art Museum Auditorium (1030 E. Lavaca Street, Beaumont) on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.
