Center for Rural Heritage Orientation Building

The rehabilitation of our circa 1915 commercial building in downtown Kosse has begun! Preservation Texas purchased the building from the City of Kosse to use as a visitor orientation building for our future Center for Rural Heritage at Bassett Farms Conservancy. The building will also house temporary exhibits, collections storage, office and meeting space, a library, and a small retail area.

Phase one of the rehabilitation, which is limited to the front facade, has been completed by Shorty Sanchez of Waco. This work has been funded in part by a grant from the Texas Historical Foundation. Subsequent phases will address the rear facade and interior finishes. Contributions toward this project can be made by check or online at the link below.
