2023 HONOR AWARD NOMINATIONS

2023 Honor Award nominations are open NOW through May 31st!

Presented every other year, Preservation Texas Honor Awards recognize outstanding efforts to restore, preserve, rehabilitate or reconstruct historic places that have been individually included on the Most Endangered Places list or relate to a previous thematic listing.

The nomination form as well as a complete list of Most Endangered Places thematic listings can be found at PreservationTexas.org/HonorAwards.

Honor Award winning projects will be announced later this summer. We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments and sharing them statewide!

2023 MOST ENDANGERED PLACES LIST

Nominations to our 2023 list of Texas's Most Endangered Places are open NOW through April 14th!

Of particular interest in 2023 are nominations of Endangered Places that address themes or topics that have not been included on prior lists. These themes include:

  • Indigenous history

  • Properties associated with Texas artists and writers

  • Brutalist architecture

  • Small town cotton gins, mills, or similar industrial sites

  • 19th & 20th century sharecropping sites (dwellings, farmsteads, communities)

  • Sites associated with Women's Suffrage in Texas

  • Sites in the Big Spring-Midland-Odessa region

Nominations are not limited to sites associated with these themes. We welcome a geographically, culturally, and architecturally diverse range of submissions.

The final list will be announced in May during National Historic Preservation Month. Visit PreservationTexas.org/MEP2023 for more information.
