Old Arlington High School

The Old Arlington High School complex consists of the 1922 academic building and the 1940 gymnasium/cafeteria. The academic building served as the only high school in Arlington until 1956 when a new building was constructed at another location and the original complex became a junior high school. In 1968, the school district sold the campus to the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).

Today the complex houses UTA’s School of Social Work. In 2019, the UT System Board of Regents approved $60 million in funding for the construction of a new School of Social Work building. The fate of the Old Arlington High School complex is uncertain.
