Preservation Day at the Capitol 2025
AUSTIN, TEXAS - FEBRUARY 19th
The 89th Texas Legislature's regular session begins on January 14, 2025, and historic preservation will be impacted by proposed legislation and budgets. Join fellow preservation advocates from across the state in Austin for a full day of legislative briefings and advocacy opportunities on Wednesday, February 19th at the Texas State Capitol. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday evening, February 18th at a historic Austin venue.
This event is free, but participation is limited to current Preservation Texas members. If you are not a member, we’d love to have you join or renew! If you are unsure of your membership status, please contact hunick@preservationtexas.org.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday, February 18th
5:00 - 6:30 pm: Opening reception (TBD)
Dinner on your own
Wednesday, February 19th
8:00-9:30 am: Breakfast and legislative briefing (Barbara Jordan State Office Building 1601 Congress Ave)
10:00 am: Reading of the Preservation Day House Resolution (Capitol House Chamber)
10:30 am - 2:30 pm: Legislative meetings with elected officials and/or staff
Lunch on your own (Capitol Cafeteria)
3:00 - 4:00 pm: Debriefing and libations at Scholz Garten (1607 San Jacinto Blvd)
