Educational Programs Survey
Preservation Texas is looking to develop some online educational programs for our members. Our goal is to provide content that is valuable to you. You can help us determine what formats and topics would be most relevant by completing the survey at the link below. We greatly appreciate your time and input.
Adobe Building Workshop Report
Last month, Preservation Texas's Endangered Properties Manager, Conor Herterich, and Architectural Programs Manager, Jesús Najar, traveled to El Paso to host a two-day hands-on adobe building workshop. The event was held at Abara House, the mid-19th century adobe home of Simeon Hart. This site on the Rio Grande was included on our list of Texas's Most Endangered Places in 2014.
At the workshop, 30 attendees were taught how to make adobe bricks, mix lime plaster, and assess and repair damage to adobe walls by adobe conservation specialist Pat Taylor.
We look forward to hosting more hands-on preservation training workshops in the near future!
